The Necromancer doesn’t come alone to Diablo 3 but brings along his little friends
Necromancer is in Closed Beta for a while now and on the official PTR is the newest patch 2.6.0 on a test drive. Both will come out together, but with a little difference. While we get the patch for free as always, we have to pay for the Necromancer. No one knows till now, how much it will cost and when we are going to see it. But speculations and the fact that it already seems polished so far suggests that it will make its appearance at the end of this season. If not, we have to wait for the end of the next season as Blizzard announced it for the second half of this year.
Along with the Necromancer, we will get a few additional items for our Diablo 3. One of them is a creepy, little, half-formed golem. This fellow will happily collect your bloody gold for you and maybe some left-over parts of the enemies. For the more style-orientated players, there will be some nice in-game goodies. Those include the Wings of the Crypt Guardian, the “Blood Master” flag, some parts for your banner and a portrait. You can see them at the end of the article.
The Necromancer itself will be the new hero class of Diablo 3.
“As a master of the dark arts, you wield the powers of life and death necessary to restore the Balance! Necromancers are powerful spell casters who lay waste to their enemies using curses and reanimation — along with an obedient cadre of pets. This new class employs a controlled gameplay style using the raw materials of life: blood and bone.”
The word “Necromancer” is actually an outsider’s term for the Priests of Rathma, as per their ability to raise the dead. Necromancy is an ability possessed by the minions of the Burning Hells, but among mortals, it is only Necromancers that possess it. Yet Necromancers are pragmatists, and are above temptation. Their knowledge of the unknown allows them to face death without fear.
