Warface is an “AAA4Free” MMOFPS developed by Crytek. They used CryENGINE3 to deliver an optically enhanced game that tries to be unique in his genre. Players are able to embark on a lot of PvE missions that are well done and make a contrast to the otherwise PvP heavy genre. But of course, the PvP part takes also a big role in Warface.
In Warface, the player takes the role of a soldier under the command of Warface or the Blackwood. Warface consists of soldiers that fight under the command of US General Lee Warton against the terror, chaos and corruption. On the other hand, there is Blackwood. An organisation that consists of the richest people in the world that only consider their own interests. Both go head to head in engaging PvE missions.
A special part of the PvE content is the co-op mode. There, players band together to take down the Blackwood camps all over the world. Depending on the player’s performance in the team, he gets different rewards at the end. And team play is important as the players can only win together or lose together.
In the PvP section, players can choose from a couple of different matches. There are “Free for all”, “Team Death Matches”, “Strom”, “Destruction”, “Plant the Bomb” and “Tactics”.
During every game, you choose one of four predefined classes. Those are Rifleman, Sniper, Medic, and Engineer. The Rifleman is rather well-versed in close- to mid-combat. He is the actual damage dealer and ammo supplier. The Sniper is the long-range support with a rather deadly accuracy. The Medic is the traditional healer in Warface. He can heal everyone and even revive them during a match. Last but not least, the Engineer is a supporter that can fix the armour of everyone and is well-versed with bombs and thinks like that.
